Abstract
⺠Trimethyltin (TMT) produces memory deficits and temporal lobe seizures. ⺠TMT treatment acutely increased Gal-3 expression in the hippocampal DG in mice. ⺠Gal-3 was detected in activated microglia and astrocyte following TMT treatment. ⺠Gal-3 was co-localized with COX-2 and iNOS in the hippocampal DG. ⺠Gal-3 may be involved in the inflammatory response in TMT-induced brain injury.
