Abstract
⺠Parkinsonian and dyskinetic monkeys show regional changes of brain 5-HT1A receptors. ⺠Striatal 5-HT turnover increased with l-DOPA regardless of the dyskinetic status. ⺠Cortical 5-HT1A receptors were lower in parkinsonian monkeys compared to controls. ⺠l-DOPA increased 5-HT1A receptors in the hippocampus and the cortex. ⺠Ro 61-8048 prevented the l-DOPA-induced 5-HT1A receptors increase in motor cortex.
