Abstract
⺠The Mediator complex forms the bridge between transcription factors and RNAP II. ⺠Tissue-specific transcription factors interact with specific Mediator subunits. ⺠Activator binding induces a conformational change within the Mediator complex. ⺠Mediator coordinates RNAP II recruitment, phosphorylation and postinitiation events.
