Vaccine specific immune response to an inactivated oral cholera vaccine and EPI vaccines in a high and low arsenic area in Bangladeshi children

► Arsenic contamination of water is a major problem in Bangladesh. ► This may lead to aberrant immune responses including that to vaccines. ► Responses to cholera as well EPI vaccines are not affected by high levels of arsenic. ► Vibriocidal response to cholera vaccine was comparable in high and low arsenic area. ► Results will help decision makers for wider use of childhood vaccine in Bangladesh.
