Abstract
⺠Concerns about safety and side effects were the main deterrents to 2009 H1N1 vaccination amount the studied sample of day care-aged children. ⺠Minority groups, particularly Hispanic and Haitians had lower vaccination rates for 2009 H1N1 Influenza than non-Hispanic Whites and Blacks. ⺠Children with chronic diseases were more likely to get vaccinated for 2009 H1N1 Influenza. ⺠Physician recommendation was a key factor influencing 2009 H1N1 influenza. A significant number of physicians did not recommend the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine to their patients. ⺠Based on study results, clear, reliable and consistent dissemination of vaccine benefits and risks is crucial to successful vaccination efforts.
