Abstract
⺠In 2010 Côte d'Ivoire became the first GAVI-eligible country in sub-Saharan Africa to establish a NITAG. ⺠Reasons for success included a strong political will and the availability of sufficient national expertise. ⺠Challenges faced included the socio-political crisis and the initial reluctance coming from some stakeholders. ⺠Numerous meetings held with SIVAC helped clarify the mandate of the NITAG.
