Abstract
⺠We examined lasting hepatitis B vaccine-induced immunity in high endemic areas. ⺠Most at birth vaccinated adolescents protected for up to 15 years. ⺠Strong response to primary hepatitis B vaccination predicted lasting immune memory. ⺠However, â¼30% were unable to mount immune response to boosting and may be at risk. ⺠Revaccination may be needed when opportunities for hepatitis B virus exposures exist.
