Abstract
⺠We cloned and characterized TP22.4, a novel tegumental protein in S. japonicum. ⺠Circular dichroism measurement demonstrates SjTP22.4 has Ca2+ binding ability. ⺠TP22.4 immunization showed a decrease in liver pathology in challenge experiment. ⺠SjTP22.4 combined with praziquantel showed more significant protection. ⺠SjTP22.4 with PZQ is of value in killing schistosomulum.
