Abstract
► Structural perturbation of diphtheria toxoid occurs upon adsorption to aluminium hydroxide. ► Five physicochemical techniques are used to characterize adsorbed diphtheria toxoid. ► Adsorption causes an increase of β-sheet content and a decrease of α-helix content in the toxoid. ► Analytical methods offer a tool to demonstrate consistency in the production of diphtheria toxoid.
