Abstract
⺠Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe gastroenteritis in young children. ⺠Healthy-years equivalents can capture the effect of interventions on quality of life. ⺠Healthy-years equivalents account for changes in frequency and severity of disease. ⺠Healthy-years equivalents can be used to estimate the effect of vaccination programs. ⺠This method is an alternative to QALYs for economic models of rotavirus vaccines.
