Abstract
⺠A new method (ECL test) using electro-chemi-luminescence labels and carbon electrode plateswas evaluated for detecting rabies virus antibody. ⺠By using a cutoff point of 0.15 IU/ml, the ECL test demonstrated 100% sensitivity and 95% specificity for human samples, and 96% sensitivity and 95% specificity for field animal samples. ⺠The preliminary results appear promising and demonstrate a higher sensitivity than traditional ELISA methods.
