HLA class II transgenic mice develop a safe and long lasting immune response against StreptInCor, an anti-group A streptococcus vaccine candidate

► HLA class II transgenic mice are important model for study the role of human HLA class II molecules in animal model. ► Long lasting immune response (1 year) indicated that StreptInCor vaccine epitope induces a robust immune response. ► StreptInCor did not induce heart tissue cross reactive antibodies. ► Histopathology analysis after one year post-immunization indicated that StreptInCor vaccine epitope is safe.
