Abstract
⺠More than 25% of the population suffer from allergy. ⺠Allergen-specific immunotherapy has been performed for 100 years. ⺠Recombinant hypoallergenic allergen derivatives allow a reduction of side-effects. ⺠As allergy vaccines they can avoid IgE-mediated side effects. ⺠Therapeutic effects are mainly mediated by allergen-specific blocking IgG antibodies.
