Abstract
⺠We model the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and disease. ⺠Misattributing causal HPV types in cervical disease can cause vaccine effectiveness to be overestimated. ⺠This phenomenon can cause an apparent post-vaccination increase in non-vaccine type HPV disease.
