Abstract
► We describe serotype distribution and antibiotic resistance of 140 nasopharyngeal pneumococcal isolates collected in Beijing. ► The prevailing serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae are 19F, 23F, 14, 15, and 6A. ► The potential coverage of PCV13 is higher than PCV7 and PCV10. ► The resistance rate of S. pneumoniae to macrolides is high and ermB is the dominant macrolide-resistance gene.
