Abstract
Coal mining continues to be a significant source of musculoskeletal stress and injuries. The primary aim of the programme described here was to reduce injury risks associated with manual tasks performed by miners. Examples of the risk assessments undertaken and resulting control suggestions are provided and lessons learned during the project are described.
