Abstract
⺠Chandipura virus (Rhabdoviridae: Vesiculovirus) is an encephalitis causing virus of the pediatric group with high case fatality rate. ⺠A candidate vaccine against the virus is developed and evaluated. ⺠Beta propio lactone-the vaccine produces 100% sero-conversion in Swiss albino mice. ⺠Neutralizing antibody after the third dose ranged from 1:80 to 1:320. ⺠Mice with antibody titer >20 survived intra cranial virus challenge.
