Abstract

- We study the transgenerational immune priming of insect eggs exposed to parasitism.
- Priming suppresses parasitoid development and parasitoid emergence from host eggs.
- Primed host eggs exhibit increased immune responses to parasitism.
- The larval hatching rates of parasitoid-exposed eggs are not affected by priming.
- Transgenerational immune priming has negative effects on egg parasitoids.
