Intracellular Copper Zinc Superoxide dismutase (icCuZnSOD) from Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer): Molecular cloning, characterization and gene expression with reference to Vibrio anguillarum infection

► Full-length cDNA sequence encoding for icCuZnSOD has been identified from Asian seabass. ► Lc-icCuZnSOD showed high similarity with that of Pisces. ► Lc-icCuZnSOD revealed the presence of the active sites and structural identity with human icCuZnSOD. ► The mRNA expression of Lc-icCuZnSOD was altered after bacterial challenge. ► Lc-icCuZnSOD might play an important role in innate immune mechanisms in Asian seabass.
