Abstract
► We describe wide array of genes involved in immune response of carp against CyHV-3. ► CyHV-3 infection induces activation of type I IFNs-dependent pathways. ► Higher activation of cytotoxic T cells was observed in more resistant carp line. ► The outcome of CyHV-3 disease could be controlled by genetic factors of the host.
