Abstract
- The Great Barrier Reef fish trematode fauna has now been studied systematically for 25Â years.
- 326 fully identified trematode species have now been reported for the fauna.
- Accumulation curves for trematode species, genera and host/parasite combinations are almost straight, rapidly rising lines.
- We estimate the total richness of the fauna will be between 1,100 and 1,800 species.
- Key gaps in our understanding are outlined.
