Abstract
⺠We examined whether Cryptosporidium diagnostics in diarrhoeal calves needs improvement. ⺠Cryptosporidium spp. and subtype distribution in diarrhoeal calves were examined. ⺠Routine diagnostics for diarrhoeal calves suffice in their present state. ⺠Cryptosporidium bovis could have a pathogenic potential. ⺠Subtypes show a clonal within-herd pattern and subtype family IIa is most prevalent..
