Abstract
⺠Tapeworms induce strong changes in isotopic signatures of their hosts. ⺠Infected and uninfected Artemia are not equivalent from a trophic point of view. ⺠New avenues for research in trophic ecology and diets of birds are identified. ⺠The importance of considering the parasitic status of invertebrate prey is highlighted.
