Abstract
⺠80.8% of serial title changes are primarily due to subject or function changes. ⺠19.2% of serial title changes are corporate, geographic, frequency, or format based. ⺠A third of serials with title changes undergo change before the title changes. ⺠New serial works emerge when significant subject or function changes occur. ⺠Reasons for serial title changes are most reliably determined from textual content.
