Abstract
The aim of this paper is to predict an appropriate stress-strain model for concrete confined by Aramid FRP wraps. A database including the results of 81 concrete cylinders confined by AFRP wraps was collected to assess the performance of 12 existing strength and strain models. The reliability of these models was implemented using the statistical indices of the coefficient of determination (R2) and the root mean square error (RMSE). Based on this study, stress-strain models proper for AFRP-confined concrete were developed. The results obtained show that the taking into account of the effect of the confinement stiffness (Kl) and the hoop rupture strain (εh,rup) give a good performances compared to the other models.
