Abstract
Managing change implies managing the move from one point of stability to another-the “unfreeze, transition, refreeze paradigm.”1 In today's library environment, change is constant and ongoing. The ability to manage change must be built into the system. This paper examines several change models that managers can use and how it applies to a Periodicals Desk staffing change at the University of Memphis. The change process includes defining the changing, creating a common goal, involving the staff, providing an opportunity for feedback, and providing an opportunity to learn and grow.
