Abstract
•This study investigated the developmental pattern of VOT in pre-adolescent children.•VOT characteristics of the voiceless stop consonants /p, t, k/ were studied.•VOT is not associated with gender, but decreases significantly with age.•VOT value changed as a function of the place of articulation and the characteristics of the following vowel.
