Abstract
⺠We explored prosodic variation in two regional varieties of American English. ⺠Prosodic variation was analyzed for speaking rate and intonation contour. ⺠Results revealed dialect differences in pausing, pitch accents, and phrasing. ⺠Significant gender effects were also observed for pitch accents and phrasing.
