Abstract
The modulation on intersubband optical absorption in an AlxGa1-xN/AlN core-shell nanowire is studied by adjusting external applied conditions (temperature and pressure) as well as structure parameters (core radius and Al composition). As pressure or core radius or Al composition increases, the absorption peaks show a redshift, whereas a blueshift occurs when increasing temperature. Furthermore, the absorption intensity increases with increasing core radius and pressure, while reduces with increasing Al composition and temperature. It is also found that the absorption spectrum is significantly sensitive to core radius and Al composition but weakly affected by temperature and pressure, which can be applied for the coarse and fine adjustment of intersubband absorption into an expected wavelength range.
