Abstract
Carbon fiber (C fiber) toughening nanoscale Al2O3-ZrO2 eutectic was prepared by ultrasonic-assisted directed laser deposition (DLD). The eutectic spacing detected by TEM was 50â¯Â±â¯5â¯nm, which was 5-30% of the Al2O3-ZrO2 eutectic. The reasons for the decrease of eutectic spacing were analyzed from two aspects: ultrasonic-assisted and C fiber addition. The fracture toughness was 8.7â¯Â±â¯0.2â¯MPaâ¯m1/2 measured by indentation crack length, which was about 2.5 times higher than Al2O3-ZrO2 eutectic.
