Abstract
- This is one of the largest series reporting the clinical and histopathological characteristics of gastrointestinal tract IFPs
- The characteristic histopathologic features of IFPs are onion skinning appearance and eosinophil infiltration
- The presence of short fascicular pattern and multinucleated giant cells should also raise suspicion for a diagnosis of IFP
- Immunohistochemically CD34 positivity and CD117 negativity are the most helpful for differential diagnosis
