Abstract
This paper reports a new fluorophore enhanced the chemiluminescence (CL) reaction between bis-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate (TCPO) and H2O2. Glutathione-coated cadmium telluride quantum dots (GSH-CdTe QDs) takes the place of conventional fluorescent dyes, acting as an acceptor by means of energy transform from the intermediate of 1,2-dioxetanedione to enhance the CL signal of TCPO-H2O2. The addition of phloroglucinol into the CL system caused significant quenching of luminescence intensity. Based on this, the CL system was developed as a novel flow-injection method for the determination of phloroglucinol simply and rapidly. A possible mechanism of the CL reaction was proposed according to the results of kinetic analyses, CL spectra, UV-visible and fluorescence spectra. Finally, the CL method was successfully applied to the detection of phloroglucinol in environmental water samples.
