Abstract
Amino-decorated nonporous silica nanoparticles were further coated with alginic acid to produce a potential biocompatible delivery system for Pt(IV) antitumor prodrug (OCâ6â44)âacetato(βâalaninato)diamminedichloridoplatinum(IV), through the formation of amide bonds. The conjugate was more active than both cisplatin and the Pt(IV) precursor, due to its more efficient cell uptake.112
