Abstract
- New mineral chemistry and isotopic data for the ultramafic SLMB Suite, which hosts an important vermiculite deposit.
- The SLMBS rocks were affected by hydrothermalism, but detailed studies enabled the distinction of igneous rocks.
- Two types of vermiculite with relatively distinct mineral chemistry have been recognized.
- Vermiculite formed, mainly, by weathering, but the “vermiculization” process probably started at the hydrothermal process.
- The SLMB Suite rocks emplacement may have occurred at the final kinematic stage of Brasilia Belt.
