Abstract
The article serves as an introduction to the present special issue devoted to “libertinage” and “dandyism” in Russian literature and culture. It discusses these concepts, which formed points of departure in a long-running project, and results of research in its framework, in particular a symposium held in Lausanne in 2011. The author provides a brief survey of the contributions presented here.
