Abstract
There is a large number of plots that have a mythological content, but cannot be considered a repetition of a concrete myth. These stories have mythological elements that are connected with all kinds of other narrative features. Such a mythological element is travel to the moon as the journey to the “other world”. Its mythological basis is the association between the deathly pale moonlight and the world beyond the grave. We find these mythological connotations for instance in B. Poplavskiiʼs poems ‘Lunnyi dirizhabl” and ‘Zhalost’ k Evropeʼ but also in popular songs.
