Трансферы Даниэля Штайна

In this article Liudmila Ulitskaiaʼs 2007 novel Daniel Shtain, Translator is analysed in terms of changes and transfer, as transgression of real and fictive boundaries. Two types of transfer are distinguished in the novel, external, when the hero is forced to change his identity, and internal, when he changes of his own free will. Ultimately, it is argued, the hero remains essentially identical to himself.
