Abstract
The concept of “faktura” (texture) has been important for Kruchenykh during his entire career. It can be considered as a device of “displacement”, which shifts the attention from the level of the content of the poem to that of its material: the letters and the sound. The device leads to Kruchenykh's “zaumnye knigi” (“transrational books”), that testify to the close connection between poetry and painting in the Russian avant-garde. One of Kruchenykh's most typical “faktura”-books is Vzorval' (Explosion, 1913).
