Abstract
In the present article the Petersburgian hypertext is explored. At its core lies the fact that the Petersburg foundation myth and the eschatological myth are simultaneously present. This entails a set of basic oppositions, among which most prominently figures the opposition of sacral/infernal. The author traces its manifestations in a number of subtexts (constituting the hypertext) by Pushkin, Gogol', Dostoevskii, Apollon Grigor'ev, Chexov, Blok and Zamiatin.
