Abstract
This contribution contains the poetic heritage of the Kazan philologist, translator and poet D.P. Shestakov (1869–1937), most of which has been published only in small part.In the introductory article the editor sketches the life and poetry of D.P. Shestakov, his contacts with his “teacher” Fet, with whom he corresponded about his early poems. He also discusses various efforts to unearth, collect and publish Shestakov's poetry, especially by the poet N.N. Pertsov and the scholar L.K. Dolgopolov.
