Abstract
Previous studies have established that the union organization forms a significant relationship with union effectiveness. Nevertheless, there is still a paucity of studies conducted, in view of the moderator's role between both the constructs. This research aims to determine the moderating effect of the type of union on their union effectiveness. Data collected from a survey on 676 union officials in Selangor and the Federal Territory (Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur) was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that the union effectiveness was significantly influenced by union organization. Nonetheless, the type of union does not function as moderator.
