Abstract
The aim of this article is to shed light on the parental experience in midlife and its implication on parents well-being. The article reviews major conceptual frameworks in this domain. Previous literature dealt primarily with particular parts of the experience and studied parenthood as independent variable. A research was conducted to fill this gap of knowledge. This study examined the correlations between the perceived parental role, ambivalence and well-being in midlife parents. Focusing on parents of adult children will allow for the examination of the core family unit's functioning in its later stages.
