Current Communication Trends in Church Sermons

The article deals with the main aspects of the present Orthodox sermon development. Verbal peculiarity, topical specific character and a new communication format of the present sermon is considered. Changes in the style of the sermon, its thematic content and ways of communication are shown through sermon text linguistic analysis. The author draws a conclusion about the trends to updating temple preaching genre preserving the traditions of the ecclesiastical canon. The article also describes the alternative forms of Christian preaching outside the church and shows the process of new modern tools of orthodox preaching appearing in the church world out of bounds of the temple.
