Abstract
This paper describes the TED Corpus Search Engine (TCSE), an online corpus system that searches transcripts and translations of over 1,800 TED Talks, allowing users to query surface text forms, lemmas, parts-of-speech, or their combinations. Videos are available for the matched text, making the system useful for both linguistic research and language education. Also discussed is the system's theoretical background. The usage-based model of language is widely reflected in TCSE's structures and features. With functionalities that retrieve linguistic exemplars efficiently and provide multimodal contextual data, TCSE is a corpus system designed in accordance with an existing theoretical framework.
