Abstract
Countries have introduced legislation to enhance the integration of persons with disability (PWDs) into mainstream society. However, to achieve this objective public policy has to include the opinions of PWDs. Hence, this study examines the perception of PWDs on acceptance of disability with respect to personal, public and at the workplace and its association with the demographic factors. The findings show that PWDs with special education perceive a high acceptance of disability. Therefore, it can be said that PWDs perceive a higher acceptance of their disabilities due to the education they received and not just because of public policies.
