The Peculiarities of Interethnic Appearance Perception

The thesis is dedicated to the investigation of peculiarities in perception and recognition of the appearance in an ethnic aspect. Psychological concepts are analyzed and the approaches to the study of face as the main means of communication are singled out. The peculiarities of interethnic appearance perception ere found out. Factors that influence on the process of the psychological portrait's formation for their own and other ethnical groups’ representatives are investigated: individual-psychological factors (characterologic features, value orientations) and socio-psychological factors (communication experience, duration of the communication, social distance).
