Abstract

This article is focused on the issue of parallel study of native and target-language cultures in foreign language teaching. The authors consider studying both native and target-language cultures to be essential for students’ personal development in the process of foreign language acquisition. However, efficient process of parallel study of two cultures cannot be realised by one language teacher, either a native speaker of the target-language and a representative of the target-language culture or a teacher belonging to the same language and cultural community as his/her students.
