The aim of this study is to prove that Aerobic Gymnastics can have a positive effect on the students’ body image and, as a consequence, their self-esteem.We used a questionnaire and the statistical and qualitative analysis of the answers provided. Initially, we collected data about the experience of our students with Physical Education, about their needs and expectations related to this subject. After the students had followed a 3-semester Aerobic Gymnastics program, we applied a new set of questions to them, which included the Rosenberg self-esteem scale. Our aim was to detect changes in the students’ perception of their body image, and their awareness of the significance of physical exercise for their health and self-esteem.Aerobic Gymnastics programs have a positive influence on the body image and health perception of young females. These two subjective parameters are an intermediate variable in establishing a strong positive correlation with the students’ self-esteem.
