We performed a biomechanical analysis of the cross punch applied in the full-contact style based on data acquisition using the inertial navigation technology embedded in the Xsens MOVEN equipment and surface electromyography. We have recorded series of punches using the MOVEN dedicated software and a digital video camera (120f/s). The data obtained were converted and processed in Excel 2010 and then represented graphically. We have recorded movements of the fist between 77 cmand 87 cm, maximum wrist velocity between 9.84 m/s and 11.2 m/s, maximum elbow extension between 171 and 176.8 degrees and contact with the target between 158 ms and 187 ms. There is an overlap of the variation curves of the speed segments in time, the activation moments and the duration of the agonistic and antagonistic activity of the key arm muscles involved in the punch.
