The concept of cultural management is linked to modular planning as it connects people via an organizational and cultural net and directs them to predetermined cultural goals (Mendis, 2007). The Museum of School Life in the Municipality of Chania is a cultural organization that interconnects the local society, volunteers, local authorities, museum professionals and the educational community towards the accomplishment of its mission and the promotion of its vision. It comprises a case of a new Greek Museum as it opened its doors to the public under the responsibility of the Prefecture Government of Chania in 2006. The paper underlines the necessity for scientific management principles applied to cases of cultural management such as the above and the centrality of the role, which professional culture administrators can play in the development and sustainability of similar projects.
